Redken Root Booster is awesome. Spray when your hair is wet. When you are drying your hair, when it's about dry flip your hair and dry upside down. It will look crazy when you flip back up, but it will give you lift to curl it!
This girl (as in me) doesnt know how to curl hair and make it do ANYTHING, so I'm the wrong person to ask! BUT, my friend's hair looks like your above pic and she just curls it with her chi straightener. For reals. :)
