I hope to get some Christmas shopping done this weekend. Jacob will be duck hunting Sunday morning and deer hunting in the afternoon. He also has plans Saturday afternoon with his big so maybe I can get most of it done!

This little doll came to see me at work today....so so precious! Jacob and I went to see The Blindside last weekend and it was awesome!

We had a very productive weekend. The tree is up, the lights are up so I guess we are ready :)
Bethany spent the night with me and was a great help, we had a great time!

Now for a few bullets...

• I have a funeral today for a guy that I grew up in church with. His sister and I are still real close so it is tough to see her in this shape.
• Jacob will be deer hunting this Sunday and I plan to get some shopping done.
• It just puzzles me how so many people want to be "in charge" last I checked I thought I had one boss...with that being said I am ready for Friday and staying as quite as I can. Not going to break my Christmas spirit!!

Jacob had an invite to his 1st duck hunt from a guy I went to high school with on Thanksgiving morning. I had to be up at 3 and have him in LR at 3:30. Shew that was early but he did shoot some and Al said he was a wonderful hunter and a great mannered kiddo!

Jacob finally had his photo shoot with Heather Beckham Clark. I have a lot of photos to look through and will share those after.
I chose just one for now :)

Jacob passed his Hunter's Ed course so now he is really ready! And we are both ready to tailgate this weekend and cheer on the Razorback so for WBW here is a picture of myself with some of the Razorback football team in 2000, maybe 1999 but I think 2000. I worked at Baptist Hospital at the time in critical care administration and they came to see patient's on Thanksgiving and I was a tour guide to the ICU units.

bullets for today....

• last night we had dinner with the P crew and baked some cookies, kind of a kick off to bake and do something Holiday related from here on out.
• This evening Jacob will take the final hunter's ed test, I hope he aces that thing! He was a bit fussy this morning so I didn't say much.
• Aidan's surgery went well and he is home recovering.
• Office potluck on Friday and what am I making???? think back to the past 3 years of photos, yep sweet potatoe casserole. And yes you will get pics again..lol
• Saturday is Razorback tailgating woo hoo, Jacob is ready! What to cook for that?

I feel like I am on a dead run this week, but I think I like to be busy :)

Jacob was able to go hunting twice on Saturday, no luck this time but maybe the next ;)
He did get to do some target practice and from what I hear he is a good shot! He doesn't get to go as much as he would like. I wish there was a service where I could pay someone to take him, I would do it for sure, hunting and fishing are his passion! I googled some guided hunts last week and um whoa at those prices.
He finished up his online hunter's ed course last night and will test tomorrow evening. He will be mad about this pic but it is all I could get..... I stepped out for a bit to hear FOTF Saturday night and ran into to this fella who was picking up dinner next door.

Sunday Carrie and I had lunch and spent the afternoon shopping...it was such a beautiful day out.

Special prayers for our little buddy Aidan today during his surgery.

WBW~Way Back Wednesday

Jacob received this horse pillow thingie for Christmas one year, we named him Yankee. Jacob did not have much interest and I would try to get him to use it as a pillow. Wellll somehow I started using it as a pillow and it got to where I could not sleep at night without it...lol
I slept with this thing until the tail fell off and it had holes in it, I even went as far as to have someone sew it up and make repairs. Finally I was forced by someone else to toss it! We still laugh about this and Jacob brought it up the other night and was poking fun about it....good memories I guess you would say :)
Now off to enjoy my day off! Happy Veteran's Day!

The above picture was my bathroom on Friday. I had seen enough of this pastel shower curtain to last me a lifetime! I do not like pastels, never have, but it seemed fitting with the lovely green tile...lol. Seriously the picture on the wall is has purple iris in it...yuk!
So this is my bathroom on Saturday. I still have much to do and have some black & white art to frame but I like. The cabinets are still open a little because the paint was still tacky. But it is change...

Saturday I was trying to keep my mind off the fact that it had been 19 years that I lost my Mom. Seems like yesterday yet seems like so long ago. It pleases me to know that Jacob got so much of my Mom's wonderful personality and really looks so much like her. I plan to scan a pic soon and show you just how much!!

Things work out, they just do! And they have!
Today I am so grateful, and very grateful that I am surrounded by such wonderful people that are always there for me. To hear me cry, to cry with me, to hold my hand, to laugh with me...to travel this journey together.
